Anna is a kind and talented girl from a small town.She is a graduate of the medical college, passing her residency in a hospital, and at a friend's party she meets and falls in love with a guy named Dmitry, a student at the film academy. But their love is not destined to last forever. Dmitry's mother interferes with the young people's relationship because she doesn't want to see a country girl in her urbanehouse. Anna's friend Yuliaalso meddles in the relationship—she became interested in Dmitry long ago. Seduced by Yulia, Dmitry abandons Anna. Pregnant Anna returns to her seaside hometown. Years pass by. Anna is already a surgeon, the head physician at the regional hospital. Anna has an adult daughter and a budding relationship with her former patient, Yuri. But everything changes when Dmitry suddenly appears at the hospital after a road accident that happened as he was travelingwith his mistress to the seaside town. The situation gets more complicated when Yulia, who became his wife, comes to the hospital to see Dmitry and runs into Anna. Dmitry learns that Ksyusha, a student at the film academywhere he teaches, is his daughter. Unhappy in his marriage, Dmitry decides to win back his daughter and his former love. Now Anna has to choose which man, Dmitry or Yuri, she will let in her life and whom Ksyusha will call her dad.
