Svetlana is in love with Sergey, her friend's husband. She comes up with a clever means of separating him from his wife. She almost manages to do it... The marriage between Olga, a dressmaker, and Sergey, a car mechanic, could be called exemplary if it were not for Sergey's jealousy. One evening, as she is returning home from a client, Olga is harassed by some thugs—they want to rob or rape her. Luckily for her, Kirill happens to be passing by. He fights off the thugsand accompanies Olga home.
A day later, Olgameets Kirill again as she is walking in the park with her child. Kirill confesses that he fell in love with her at first sight. Olga is not going to tell her husband about her visit to a cafe with Kirill, but her daughter gives the secret away. Olga saves the day, saying that Kirill is her classmate.
Olga finally decides to tell her husband everything, but she does not have time—Sergey leaves her. Svetlana has succeeded inwinning Sergey bybringing him lunches to workand inviting him over. But Sergey, although he compliments Svetlana's cooking skills, cannot stop thinking about Olga. Suddenly the whole truth is revealed—when Olga sees Kirill and Svetlana together she understands: it was all arranged.
Olga goes to Svetlana's house. Svetlana, who is waiting for Sergey, opens the door carelessly. Driven into a corner, Svetlana loses her temper and is about to strangle Olga. Fortunately, Sergey hears his wife's cries, breaks down the door, and saves his beloved.
